This over-used yet commonly misunderstood phrase (along with a thousand-and-one fad diets) has led many people to develop either “good” or “bad” associations with food, and there’s usually no in-between. For example, some people are convinced they gain weight just by looking at bread, or that every chip they eat adds a quarter inch to their waistline.
This doesn't necessarily mean that you HAVE to count calories to lose weight, it just means that calories do count. Now that you know this, you’re already one step closer to creating your very own successful and sustainable weight loss plan.
